Lake Oswego, Oregon, November 8, 2013–

Two Ten Women in Footwear Industry (WIFI) announce their pilot meeting on Wednesday, December 11th at Fit Right on 2258 NW Raleigh St. in Portland from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Two Ten is partnering with National Shoe Travelers for this inaugural event.

Two Ten WIFI began in 2010 with small groups of woman meeting after work and has grown to hundreds of participants in 7 cities across the country: Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Boston New York, Columbus and St. Louis. Each group will hold an average of 2 events per year. The group is chaired by Diane Sullivan, President and CEO of Brown Shoe Company and Carol Baiocchi, VP-DMM at Kohl’s Department Stores. The events consist of an educational as well as networking component. Discussion topics include mentoring, negotiation, entrepreneurship and work life balance.

“Women all over the country are excited about Two Ten WIFI, and we’re thrilled to work with NST to expand the group to the North West. There is a large appetite for the types of educational events and mentoring that WIFI provides. In the coming years we hope to involve more and more women across the country”, said Neal Newman, President of Two Ten Footwear Foundation.

“It is exhilarating to bring together this dynamic group of woman in the footwear industry”, said NST Executive Director, Meaghan Lawson. “Our ultimate Goal is to develop into a National Chapter of WIFI, providing a forum for likeminded individuals, sharing their knowledge and experience for the mutual benefit of all”
